A Fillout alternative for answers that need a follow-up

Fillout packs payments, scheduling, PDFs and a big free plan into one form builder. If you need a form, it is hard to beat. Acquainto is for the moment a form cannot handle: an answer that has to be clarified before anyone can act on it.

The short answer

  • Fillout is the better tool when a form has to do a lot: take a payment, book a meeting, generate a PDF, write to Airtable.
  • Acquainto is the better tool when the hard part is the answer itself, and a vague one means a follow-up call.

Where Fillout is better than Acquainto

  • A free plan. Fillout is free for unlimited forms and seats, up to 1,000 responses a month. Acquainto has a free trial, then paid plans.
  • Payments, scheduling and PDFs. Fillout takes Stripe payments, books meetings and generates PDFs from a form. Acquainto does none of those.
  • Integrations. Fillout connects natively to more than 50 tools, including Airtable, HubSpot, Notion and Salesforce. Acquainto delivers by webhook.
  • Seats. Fillout charges nothing per seat. Acquainto plans have seat limits.
  • Certification. Fillout states it is SOC 2 Type 2 compliant. Acquainto has no such attestation yet.

What Acquainto does differently

Fillout’s AI works before and after the form: it builds the form from a description, and summarizes or classifies the submissions that come in. While someone is answering, the form is fixed. Acquainto works at the moment of the answer:

  • It asks again when an answer is incomplete, and offers a choice where precision matters.
  • You describe what you need to find out; the conversation decides when to dig and when to stop.
  • The person answering reviews every answer before it is sent, and is told who gets them before the first question.
  • One clean value per question comes back by webhook, so there is nothing to classify afterwards.

Which should you choose?

Choose Fillout if:

  • you need a free plan, or a form that also takes payment, books a meeting or produces a PDF;
  • you want native connections to Airtable, Notion or HubSpot without writing a webhook handler;
  • your whole company needs access without paying per seat.

Choose Acquainto if:

  • the answers that matter are the ones people type vaguely, and today you chase them by email;
  • each submission is a lead, a client or a job;
  • you want the follow-up to happen before the answer reaches you.
