Closing — the last screen, and where it sends people
Three separate controls decide what happens after the last answer, all under Opening & closing on the eflow’s Overview tab. They are independent — you can use any one of them without the others.
1. The closing statement
Up to 400 characters, with a live counter. Tick Closing statement and write what happens next: a follow-up promise, where results go, who to contact.
It renders as a card in the same place the opening statement uses, under the check badge and the screen’s own heading, Thanks, that’s everything. Leave the text blank and no card renders at all — the heading and the badge are what the respondent sees, and the conversation’s own closing message sits behind the Show conversation link with the rest of the transcript. There is no filler.
Its Show on row defaults to all three channels. Untick one and the card does not appear there; see How the channel changes things, which is the first thing to check when a closing statement seems to have gone missing.
2. The CTA button
A label of up to 60 characters and a URL. It appears on the closing card.
- It is not available in an iframe — the embed sandbox blocks outbound links, the checkbox is not offered, and the widget refuses it independently. So do not write a closing statement that points at a button an iframe respondent cannot see.
- In the floating chat box it opens in a new tab, because navigating the panel would replace the conversation they just finished. Everywhere else it opens in the same tab.
mailto:works as well ashttps://.
3. Redirect after completion
An https:// URL. Respondents are sent there 8 seconds after they finish —
with a visible notice naming the destination, a live countdown, and a Stay on
this page link that cancels it. Declining is permanent for that respondent;
the redirect does not come back.
It only applies where the conversation is the page. In an iframe or a floating chat box it is ignored, because navigating there would move the embed and blank the screen the respondent is reading while your page sat untouched behind it.
http:// is refused, and so is anything that is not a URL. An open redirect on
a public respondent surface is a phishing tool, so this is checked when you save
it and checked again before anyone is moved.
Leave it blank to end on the completion screen.
What a redirect costs you
A redirect trades your own closing screen for someone else’s page. Whatever the closing statement and the CTA were going to say, most respondents will be gone 8 seconds later. If the destination says the same thing better, that is a fair trade — just make it knowingly.
The rating control
Under the completion screen respondents can rate the conversation good or not good. It is always present and there is nothing to configure. It rates the conversation, not you, and it is how we find eflows that are asking badly.
